Dear friends of football,<\/p>\n

on behalf of the DFB, I would like to welcome you to the KOMM MIT events, where I wish all participants a good time with many valuable experiences. Cheering athletes, enthusiastic spectators, happy, smiling faces – this has been the picture at every KOMM-MIT-TURNIER over the past 40 years, and this is the picture we will see again this year.<\/p>\n

As the DFB, we expect this scenario to play out on the big stage next year. We are already looking forward to EURO 2024 with great anticipation. We have great expectations for the tournament next summer on many levels. On the one hand, of course, on the sporting level. I am sure that the national team will implement what national coach Hansi Flick recently promised. That they play with enthusiasm, with passion, with dedication. Then an effect will occur that we have already experienced many times and that pays into a second level from which football in Germany will benefit in the long term: The children will emulate their role models, our clubs will experience a boom.<\/p>\n

It is a central concern of ours that the EURO radiates to the grassroots and that our more than 24,000 clubs see the tournament for what it is: a joint effort of the whole of German football. Together with the 21 regional associations and DFB EURO GmbH, we launched a nationwide club campaign in August to support the clubs at grassroots level with helpful offers for club development: The DFB Points Game. Together with Rudi V\u00f6ller and Peter Frymuth, I gave the starting signal in Hanau. And because I am fully convinced of this action, I would like to use the space here to also refer to the DFB points game. Clubs can collect points until 31 July 2024. Even small activities such as advertising a training course for referees by posting a notice at the club’s home or visiting a DFB mobile will increase the count. The bigger the measure, the more points are credited to the clubs’ accounts. Attractive prizes await – such as an event day with the German national team at the DFB Campus or a short training camp at the adidas Team Basecamp in Herzogenaurach. But even below these highlights, it’s worth taking part. Once certain point thresholds are reached, guaranteed prizes await, such as training packages (mini-goals, balls and leotards) or technology packages (laptop, speakers and microphone).<\/p>\n

The DFB points game is a game in which all participants win. On another level, this has been true for three decades now with the cooperation between the DFB and KOMM MIT. The cooperation began in 1993 and was the start of a success story that continues to this day. The tournaments that KOMM MIT organises all over Europe have become a fixed item in the season planning of many clubs in Germany, Europe and the world. They not only promote individual development, but also team cohesion. Not to mention the many friendships made on and off the pitch. For children and young people in particular, experiencing and learning about other cultures through international sporting events is a great advantage for personality development. KOMM MIT has been creating the right setting for this for 40 years and inspires around 25,000 children from up to 60 nations every year. That, in turn, excites me.<\/p>\n
